Where and when does the event take place?

January 1 at Coronation Park in Oakville. Registration is open from 12:30pm to 1:45pm and the dip takes place at 2pm sharp!

What time should I arrive?

Try to arrive before 1:30pm to avoid any last minute rushes at the registration desk. If you are taking part in the costume contest at 1:15pm, try to arrive by 1pm.

What time is the costume contest?

The costume contest takes place at 1:15pm on the main stage.

What is the minimum age for dippers?

There is no minimum age. Dippers under 18 must have their waiver form signed by a parent or guardian.

Where can I get changed after the dip?

We will have heated tents available for men and women.

Where can I find parking?

Once the lots at the park are full, please head over to Lick's Bronte at 2420 Lakeshore Road West. We will be running a free shuttle bus courtesy of Stock Transportation from this lot to the park from 12:00pm until 3pm.

Are washrooms available on site?

We will have 4 portable washrooms available courtesy of Natures Call

What forms of payment do you accept at registration?

We accept cash or personal cheques made out to World Vision Canada

How can my friends and family sponsor me?

They can give you cash or a personal cheque (made out to World Vision Canada) which you will submit during registration. If they have donated $20 or more and have added their name and address to your sponsor form, they will receive a tax receipt.

If you create an online fundraising page, they can use a credit card to sponsor you.

Where is my tax receipt from last years dip?

Please note that your $25 registration fee is not eligible for a tax receipt. Sponsor funds submitted at the event last year were received and processed by World Vision in 2011. Receipts will be sent in February of 2012 so they can be claimed on 2011 tax returns. Likewise anyone who donates over $20 towards the January 1 2012 event will receive their tax receipt in February of 2013.
