How To Participate

Attention all Polar Bears....here we jump again!! 

Once again, there will be prizes for best group and individual costumes!!  Please Read the following to ensure you register correctly.

What You Should Know

 

There is a risk associated with going into Lake Ontario on January 1, 2010. The temperature of the water and the surrounding environment may be extremely cold and Lake Ontario is polluted. You should consult your physician prior to engaging in this event. Individuals who are pregnant, or have poor cardiac functioning, or suffer from a seizure disorder should not participate.

What To Do Now

1. Download and complete your Registration/Waiver Form, and bring it with you on the day of the dip along with your $25 registration fee (please bring exact change)

2. Go out and get some sponsors and place them on the sponsor section of the registration form. Sponsors who enter their complete address on your form and pledge $20 or more will be sent a tax receipt. 

Tax Receipt Note: as these funds will be received by World Vision in 2010, receipts will be sent in February of 2011 so they can be claimed on 2010 tax returns.

Tax receipts for the 2009 event will be sent by World Vision in February of 2010

Raise $100 and get a commemorative Polar Bear Dip Toque!
Plus for every $100 raised, you will receive a ballot for our prize draws!

  •  The more you raise, the more chances you have to win our Grand Prize

3. Arrive at Coronation Park in Oakville between 12:30 & 1:30 and visit the registration table to hand over your sponsorship money, collect your wristband and pick up your free SWAG BAG!

this year - bring your completed form and collected pledges to 2380 Speers Road in Oakville on Wednesday December 30th from 12pm -2pm for our first Pre-Registration day.

 Free swag bag for all dippers!

  •  The 2009 bag included an Official Polar Bear Dip T-shirt, Polar Bear charity bracelet, Dippers certificate, Thermos fashion cooler, Great Glasses eyewear kit, and a coupon from Tin Cup!

4. Get ready for the cold! Dip at 2pm sharp!

5. Join us at in Oakville for the official post-dip party!
